American Patriot Martial Arts

Traditional Jūjutsu

American Patriot Martial Arts offers training in traditional Japanese martial arts based on the warrior philosophy of the samurai and traditional American values. Unlike modern sport martial arts such as sport Jiujutsu (which is actually a branch of Jūdō), traditional Jūjutsu emphasizes training in techniques focused on real world self-defense that often involves attacks with weapons. Modern strongman competitions like the UFC/MMA are popular entertainment and may seem like an ideal sport, but the rules exclude the dangerous realities of real life-and-death struggles. Not only do sport rules create bad habits for real-world applications, but the competition-based training of sport martial arts promotes a ceaseless quest to attain greater strength and speed. Most people don’t have the time to train like an olympic athlete and want skills that will work against stronger and faster opponents escpecially as practitioners age. If you want to know how to fight smarter instead of working harder, traditional Jūjutsu may be just what you are looking for.

Traditional American Values

APMA fosters the development of traditional American values such as personal responsibility, a strong work ethic, a goal-oriented focus, as well as a can-do attitude that embraces the belief that we can accomplish nearly anything when we put in the effort.  This is important because achieving meaningful martial skills requires a great deal of focus and hard work.  Enduring the hardships of very physical martial training develops and strengthens the spirit, enabling a clarity of perspective which brings empowering insight.  There is no short-cut easy way to achieve this.  This is not religion nor just a philosophy that is read about in a book, but rather a physical method to develop a stronger spirit, clarity of mind, and an ability to perceive truth through the chaotic illusions of the modern world.

We do not support un-American concepts such as a victimhood (which is not the same as having been a victim of violence), a trophies-for-all equity mentality, nor the weakness of spirit demonstrated by the eager willingness to be easily offended by words.  The Declaration of Independence, US Constitution, and Bill of Rights are the primary documents of Americanism and serve as the guiding principles of APMA.  The curriculum includes the study and understanding of these documents.  Marxism is the antithesis of Americanism and as such Marxists are not welcome.  Same goes for Neo-Nazi facists.  Those two systems are the embodiment of evil and are the main threats to the survival of Americanism.  They should be outlawed.

If you are offended by the Pledge of Allegiance or the Lord’s Prayer, you are probably not a good fit for this school.  Same goes if you find Common Sense offensive and don’t have a good sense of humor.  Traditional martial arts require many years to master and long-term master-student relationships are necessary, so a good fit is essential for success.  This is not a casual sport, short basic self-defense course, nor an after school activity.  It is far better that a person realize the nature of our system and training, and decide it is not right for him or her, and therefore not begin in the first place instead of joining and quitting after a short time, wasting the student’s time and money.  If what you have read here seems like common sense and you would like to learn more, I encourage you to read more on this website and if you would like to try a free class, contact me.  [the name of this dōjō at Google’s popular email service]
